Once again, the AMA is partnering with the National Hare & Hound Association (NHHA), which will promote the series. The NHHA is made up of four AMA District 37 clubs: Desert MC, Vikings MC, Four Aces MC and 100's MC.
"In 2010, we saw immediate benefits from working with the NHHA to promote and develop the AMA Racing Kenda National Hare & Hound Championship Series, said AMA Director of Racing Joe Bromley. "Now, with a year under our belts, we're looking forward to even more growth in 2011, and we think this schedule and our plan for next year reflect that."
The NHHA's Ryan Sanders says that the group is eager to get to work on the new season.
"From the riders who have followed the series across the country, to the sponsors who have stepped up to make each of the events happen, 2010 was everything we expected and more," Sanders said. "Series Manager Chris Blais has built a quality contingency program, and it shows each and every time we hand the riders their certificates. This series is clearly on its way to be the premier off-road racing series in the western United States."
Sanders said that in 2011 he expects contingency payments to continue to grow, along with other ways to reward amateur riders, including product giveaways and more attractions such as pro autograph sessions. The extra attention the clubs have been paying to amateur classes is paying off, Sanders added.
"The C rider program has been our best accomplishment thus far," he said. "The number of riders who have been traveling is amazing, and it's really a family thing. There are father-and-son combos, grandfather-and-grandson combos, father-and-daughter, and even husband-and-wife. The Hare & Hound Nationals have something for everyone, and it's exciting to be a part of everyone's lives for one to two weekends a month. We have really become a family, and I just can't wait to start the new year and do this whole thing all over again!"
